A l’occasion du 5ème concours international de photographie patroné par Yann Arthus-Bertrand, la Fondation Alliance française invite les candidats à illustrer les questions qui se posent chez eux sur le climat et ses évolutions réelles ou perçues, sur les effets qui en découlent dans la vie des gens et sur les solutions, publiques ou privées, qui, dans leur pays, sont prises ou imaginées pour lutter contre les effets négatifs de ces évolutions.
Le lauréat sélectionné par le jury parisien sera invité à Paris pendant une semaine !

Fondation Alliance Française launches the fifth edition of the international photography contest : “Climate, state of emergency” under the patronage of Yann Arthus-Bertrand.
Candidates are invited to present works illustrating the issues raised in their home country in relation to climate change, both real and perceived, as well as its consequences on people’s lives, and the initiatives that are taken or imagined to fight against its negative impact.
The Alliance française de Chandigarh will send to the Fondation 2 photos from the participant selected by our own jury. The 2 photos will then be examined by a jury in Paris who will select the final winner for the international competition. He will be awarded travel expenses for a one-week stay in Paris and his photos will be displayed as part of a collective exhibition in Paris and abroad !
This contest is open to anyone who is legally an adult in their country of origin. It is open to any non professional or semi-professional photographer (it is not open to professional photographers who are recognized for their artistic work and making their living exclusively from it.)
After reading carefully the Rules & Regulations, the participant must submit two photos on the theme Climate, State of Emergency together with the Registration form to the Alliance Française de Chandigarh by email at: [email protected] by 3rd June 2015.
The jury’s decisions shall be made based mainly on the following criteria:
-The candidate’s compliance with the process;
– The relevance of the entry to the subject of the contest;
– The pertinence and harmony of both photos
– The quality of the photos entered: framing, originality, handling of light, aesthetics, etc.; – Compliance with the prescribed number of photos to be submitted (two);
– Observance of the technical factors mentioned below.
Technical specifications:
Each participant must produce each of their two photographs, in TIFF or JPEG format with a minimum resolution of 300 DPI.
The following information should also be attached to the two photographs of each participant:
– The specifications of the camera used;
– The size of the aperture used;
– The shutter-speed;
– If using film, the film specifications (i.e. brand, ISO number).
