Colors at the AF Chandigarh
– The building that houses the Alliance française of Chandigarh is very influenced by the architectural style of the great architect Le Corbusier.
– Built between 1992 and 1996, it has kept unfinished concrete surfaces, and watching many achievements of the architect, we can see that he often had to use color to liven up the surfaces. This color could be deployed on the walls, or rather original way, as the High Court or the Claude and Duval plant of St. Die in France, (usine.duval.free.fr) on the ceilings.
Today, the Alliance has a plan to color the ceilings in stairways and common areas. It opens a competition open to all.
Regulations: Starting from photographs of what exists, and inspired by the work of Le Corbusier, candidates or teams of candidates will offer a unique color setting, incorporating the colors and patterns of existing achievements or imagined by the architect.
This proposal may involve all or part of the building.
The jury, sovereign, will meet under the chairmanship of Mr. Mac Sarin, and choose one or the winner (s) or team of winners. Its decisions are final and without appeal.
The project of the winner or winning team will be realized. The recipient will abandon free and irrevocably all rights to the use of his proposal by the Alliance française of Chandigarh.
