A dance-drama by the French Theatre Company “Etoiles du Sud”, with English surtitles

In 1852, Violette Ailhaud was at a marriageable age, when her village was brutally deprived of men by the repression that followed the Republican uprising in December 1851. Two years went by in complete isolation. The women of the village took a vow that if a man came, he would be their common husband, so that life could continue.

The production of the Seed Giver came of an encounter between French actresses and dancers having lived in India for several years and was created in the Alliance française de Madras.
