Functioning of the Art Gallery
Timings : Monday to Saturday 09.00 a.m. to 13.00 p.m.; 15.00 p.m. to 19.00 p.m
The Gallery is situated in the Alliance Française of Chandigarh:
Next to Hibiscus Garden
Sectore 36 A, Chandigarh 160036
The Alliance Française “Le Corbusier” is responsible for the following:
- providing the gallery during the exhibition period
- designing, printing and mailing of the invitation cards
- press release in the local newspapers
- publicity through the Alliance Française bi-monthly La Plume
- organising press conference for the artists if need be
The Alliance Française “Le Corbusier” reserves the right to make a choice among the works proposed
The engagements on part of the artist are as follows:
- At least one month before the opening of the exhibition, the artist will have to deliver to the Alliance Française “Le Corbusier” premises his/her bio-data, his/her press book, a small write up on the exhibition and the list of works to be exhibited.
- The artist will have to pay 50% of the charges for getting the invitation cards and banners made from Alliance Française. The artist will have to get the brochures made himself.
- the artist will provide the art work properly framed or in other case in conditions ready to be exhibited
- the works should be delivered to the Alliance Française “Le Corbusier” premises at least four full working days before the opening day
- the list of titles should be given at least one day before the opening of the exhibition
- For the inauguration, artist will have to take charge of 50% of the expenditure for simple snacks which may be provided by Alliance Française.
- The artist will have to take charge of the Gallery's electricity bill (1000 per day) if they choose to use the air conditioners.
- Would have to become an associate member with The Alliance Française which would enable them to be part of the cultural and artistic life of Alliance Française, the fees for which is 550 Rs (single membership) and 600 Rs (couple membership) per year. The artists will thus receive by post a bi-monthly programme of all the cultural activities in Alliance along with invitations.
The Alliance Française “Le Corbusier” will not be responsible for any loss or damage to the material before, during or after the exhibition.
The artists will have to gift the Alliance Française “Le Corbusier” one of the exhibited art works which may be chosen in tandem with the director.
No sale will be organised at the Alliance.
