Wafa Khoury, a Lebanese painter based in Beirut and currently splitting her time between Paris and Chandigarh, will exhibit her most recent works starting January 23, 2025, at the Alliance Française de Chandigarh. As is her custom, she combines various techniques to project her emotions and the tumult of a turbulent year onto her canvases. By blending texture, material, and form, her works fluctuate between abstract and figurative without adhering to a specific style.
Around twenty works on cardboard and canvas draw their inspiration from the artist’s personal struggles, moments of calm, and a backdrop of war, destruction, and perpetual renewal. Through her art, she offers a unique perspective—a woman’s perspective—on everyday life, transcending the harsh and cold reality, which she transforms into poetry.
