From the 2nd to the 15th of April, AF Chandigarh hosted the exhibition MG@150 within its Art Gallery.
The exhibition, created by M.Kanwal Pal Singh, consisted in 5 installations as a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi.
Indeed, the year 2019 marks the 150th anniversary of the father of the Indian nation.
Papier-mâché, the material selected by M. Kanwal Pal Singh for his work, was chosen for its eye-appeal, as it forms detailed contours.
The main idea behind this exhibition was to depict Gandhi’s ideologies as they evolve through time and influence the new generations. For that, different belongings of Mahatma Gandhi or Gandhi itself were depicted by the side of 5-years-old children. The latter were an important part of the exhibition, as they are are known for exploring the items they possess, representing the development of Gandhi’s ideologies through the younger generation.

Du 2 au 15 avril, AF Chandigarh a accueilli l’exposition MG@150 dans sa galerie d’art.
Le papier mâché, matériau sélectionné par Mr Kanwal Pal Singh pour son oeuvre, a été choisi pour son attrait visuel, car il forme des contours détaillés.L’exposition, créée par Mr Kanwal Pal Singh, consistait en 5 installations en hommage à MahatmaGandhi.
En effet, l’année 2019 marque le 150ème anniversaire du père de la nation indienne.
L’idée principale de cette exposition était de représenter les idéologies de Gandhi qui évoluent dans le temps et influencent les nouvelles générations. Pour cela, Mr Kanwal Pal Singh a monté en papier mâché des enfants de 5 ans aux côtés de Mahatma Gandhi et de différents objets lui appartenant. Les enfants étaient une partie importante de l’exposition, car ceux-ci sont générallement connus pour explorer les objets qu’ils possèdent, représentant alors le développement des idéologies de Gandhi à travers la jeune génération.
