Points de vue: Architects in Conversation

July 17, 5 pm onwards @ Cafe Theatre AF. The concept is simple: a conversation between two architects, each sharing their own situated perspective on Chandigarh.

 About the Architects

Daniele, an Italian architect and artist based in Paris, will arrive in India on 15 July as a laureate of Villa Swagatam, the Indo-French cultural residency programme of the Institut Français en Inde. He will reach Chandigarh on 17 July, setting foot in India—and in Chandigarh—for the very first time. Yet, long before his arrival, he already carries a vivid mental image of the city, shaped by its history, its modernist legacy, the enduring figure of Le Corbusier, and broader ideas about India.

Noor, on the other hand, has lived and worked in Chandigarh for many years. Through a multidisciplinary practice spanning architecture, urbanism, interior design, and digital environments—including India’s first architecture studio in the metaverse—she has developed a deep engagement with the city’s heritage, its contemporary urban fabric, and its constantly evolving identity.

Their encounter brings together two complementary perspectives: one shaped by imagination and anticipation, the other grounded in lived experience and daily practice. Rather than opposing one another, these viewpoints create a productive dialogue, opening space for reflection on Chandigarh—its past, its present, and the many ways it can be perceived, experienced, and reimagined.
