The Pondicherry Imaginary Literature Fair will be a literary event aimed at highlighting science fiction and fantasy authors, as well as to strengthen cultural and literary links between France and India.

The fair will take place in Pondicherry in February, on the sidelines of the New Delhi Book Fair at which the authors will participate and integrate interventions in another Alliance Française in India.

Speakers

       Pierre BORDAGE

  • Biography: Pierre BORDAGE is a French science fiction and fantasy writer, born in 1955, having received numerous awards. He is the author of several successful novels, including Les Warriors of Silence, Wang, The Celestial Griots, etc. His works are characterized by their exploration of futuristic worlds, as well as philosophical and social questions that they pose.
  • Nouvelle Vie™ has been integrated into the French school curriculum in middle school.
  • Works translated: Several of his novels have been translated into English, thus expanding their reach on an international scale.

      Carina ROZENFELD

  • Biography: Carina ROZENFELD is a French author who writes children’s books in the science-fiction and fantasy genres.
  • In 2004, her first novel Lucille et les dragons sourds was published.
  • She is a French author but she has published some books in India as well.

     Yamouna DAVID

  • Biography: Franco-Pondicherian jurist, Yamouna DAVID writes (Bonheur impromptu) and compiles the rich correspondence of her father with his grandchildren while he passed on to them the taste for reading via various fantastic stories from his own imagination or from Tamil folk tales. These texts (Tales and Legends of India) are published by Harmattan.

 

The Pondicherry Imaginary Literature Fair and Alliance Francaise Chandigarh are an exciting initiative that will help strengthen the cultural links between France and India, while highlighting talented French and Indian authors in the field of science fiction and fantasy. By promoting the translation of literary works between two countries, this event will create a unique platform for the discovery of new literary voices and the exploration of fascinating imaginary universes.
