July 9, 6 pm onwards @ AF LibraryNepali writer, filmmaker and digital activist Nirvana Bhandary is coming to Chandigarh as part of her India tour to present her debut book, Unsanskari: A Feminist Life (2025), a bold collection of eight feminist essays on womanhood, identity, queerness, culture and bodily autonomy, written with raw honesty and an unapologetic voice.Nirvana will be in dialogue with Chandigarh-based writer and poet Amy Singh (to be confirmed) for a conversation that promises to be as intimate as it is thought-provoking. The evening will include a Q&A with the audience, and books will be available for purchase and signing.

About the Book

Unsanskari: A Feminist Life (2025) is a collection of eight feminist essays exploring what it means to be a millennial Nepali woman. With raw honesty, Nirvana Bhandary writes from lived experience, examining the social issues that shape women’s lives. Each essay is threaded with her unapologetic feminist voice, covering themes of culture, women’s bodies, identity, love and queerness. This book is a thought-provoking personal exploration that invites readers to reflect on their own feminist journeys.

About the Author

Nirvana Bhandary is a Nepali writer, independent filmmaker and digital activist from Kathmandu. She is the founder of The Feminism Project Nepal – a global digital storytelling platform, and director of the documentary Moti, Dubli, Kali, Gori: Nepali Women Reclaim their Bodies. Nirvana is passionate about creating spaces where women can write and speak unapologetically. Unsanskari: A Feminist Life is her debut book.
